The Mother Letters
Sharing the Laughter, Joy, Struggles, and Hope
Amber C. Haines and Seth Haines
Several years ago Seth watched his wife as she fell exhausted in to bed each night after a day of taking care of three boys under the age of 3. He knew she needed some encouragement. And that is how this book came to be. Seth encouraged friends and family to write a letter to Amber offering advice and encouragement. The book has since been expanded to include letters from mothers all over the country. It begins with a letter from Seth explaining how the book came to be. There is then an introduction from Amber. The main part of the book is the letters from mothers to mothers, offering encouragement and hope.
The last letter is written by Amber and is, by far, my favorite. This book would be a perfect gift to give a new mother or one that is in the depths of toddlerhood with no end in sight. The letters are short, so can be read in those brief moments of quiet that occur so infrequently when we have small children. The book is small, tastefully designed, and filled with hope. I loved the puffy style cover and glossy pictures. The varied fonts, pictures, and parchment paper background all lend to a rich experience that mothers will cherish. I would definitely recommend this book as a perfect gift for mother's day.
I received this book free of charge from Revell Reads in exchange for my honest review.
