Mother of the Bride
Refreshment and Wisdom for the Mother of the Bride
Cheryl Barker
Mother's of the Bride have a huge to-do list that can often be daunting and overwhelming. In addition to all of the regular work that a mom normally does, she now has to help her daughter plan a wedding. The author has been in this very position twice with her own daughters and has written this book to share her insight and encouragement for other mothers. Each chapter begins with a little quote and then a personal story from the author that will tie in with the thought. At the end of each chapter there are several little key points - A Gem for the Journey, Treat Yourself, Talk It Over, A Bonus Wedding Tip, and Your MOB Musings. These are little thoughts and tips that will help and guide the MOB towards a more relaxing, enjoyable experience. The Musings has a question that gets the reader thinking and then has some journaling lines to capture the thoughts.
I loved the cover of the book. It has the feel of a devotional or journal. There is also a ribbon bookmark that adds to the richness of the book. The fonts, decorative touches, and colors are beautiful and help set the ambiance for the fun, relaxing way the author writes. The author not only shares personal experiences and helpful tips, but addresses the feelings mothers' have about letting their daughters go. My daughter isn't ready for a wedding yet, but I will be keeping this book for the future and can definitely see it being a calming and fun book to read while I'm preparing for my daughter to get married.

I received this book free of charge from Goodreads in exchange for my honest review.
