Hot Rod Hamster

Hot Rod Hamster Meets His Match!
Cynthia Lord
Hamster and his friends are hot. They decide to cool off at a Water Kingdom water park. When they first arrive they can't agree on who gets what float. They begin their adventure by relaxing in the splash pool. But Hot Rod Hamster wants the wild part of wet and wild. So the group heads to the water slide. Holly and Hot Rod Hamster are the only ones brave enough to try the slide. On the way up they meet some dogs who challenge them to a race. Now the wild part has begun.

The bright, colorful illustrations will pull the readers in. The story is told with bubble captions. The vocabulary and limited words fit with the intended reading level. The author made the book interactive by asking questions. There are also descriptive words that are not a part of the story. This book would work well for beginning readers, either in a classroom setting or to encourage reading at home.

I received this book free of charge from Children's Lit in exchange for my honest review.
