Sand in My Sandwich
And Other Motherhood Messes I'm Learning to Love
Sarah Parshall Perry
Sarah was an uptight, clean freak lawyer who somehow fell in love with a laid back country boy. She thought she could change him, but she was wrong. When the kids came along, she not only learned to let go, but to love in the chaos. The book chronicles the story of the author as she not only deals with three children, but two of whom are on the autism spectrum.
The author tells her story with tongue in cheek humor that every mom will appreciate. I was unable to relate to parts of the book, because I do not have an autistic child. But even if some of the circumstances have changed, we are both still mothers facing the same anxieties, stress, and fears. The author related those with stories and lessons she learned on the same journey of motherhood that I'm on. I would recommend this book for every mother to read, but especially for those who have a child with disabilities.
I received this book free of charge from Revell Reads in exchange for my honest review.
