Michael is the popular co-host of The Chew. He promised his viewers that they could make simple, easy meals from scratch. This is the second cookbook that he's written with that concept in mind. Taking seasonal ingredients, he created easy to fix, simple meals for the family. The book begins with a short introduction to the concept and the author. It also has a pantry list. The recipes are divided up by season, so the shopper can find the ingredients needed based on the time of year. The last section, Holidays, isn't a season, but fits well with the concept of the book.

Gorgeous, full color photos, colorful fonts, and delicious recipes fill the pages. The recipes have short ingredient lists and short, simple instructions. The little note at the top of each recipe from the author is a nice touch and makes it more personable. The recipes look easy to use and I've enjoyed the ones I tried. There were a few ingredients that will be difficult to get in my small town, but I'm hoping I can substitute. Overall, I was impressed with the presentation and really liked the layout and concept of the book.

I received this book free of charge from Blogging for Books in exchange for my honest review.
