The Power of the Penny

The Power of the Penny
Abraham Lincoln Inspires a Nation
Elaina Redmond

A penny is more than just money. It is a symbol of our founding fathers, liberty, and freedom.
Stopping to pick up a penny is more than just good luck. If you pay close attention you'll find the penny showcases our countries beliefs and gives us inspiration and hope for the future.

Every child should be taught about our countries history and what it means to us today. In a lyrical voice we are told about honesty, compassion, and kindness - all things that can be learned from the penny. At the end of the book are activities for the children to do that help illustrate the message.

I read this book to my two children, ages four and six. The four year old was a bit antsy and didn't really understand the points being made. But the six year old enjoyed the illustrations and seemed to understand the message. He also enjoyed doing the activities with me.

I received this book free of charge from EI PR in exchange for my honest review.
