Merribelle has worked for years imbuing her locket with charms, specifically the type of charms meant to attract a man. She's got her eye on Lord Alexander and wants the charm to entice him to offer for her before the season is over. But on her way back from visiting family her coach is robbed and her locket is stolen by a robber who kisses her hand. Merribelle is desperate to find the identity of the robber so she can get her locket back. And Lord Alex is willing to help. So why do his eyes bother her? And can a man fall in love with her without the charm?

This was a regency romance filled with drama and suspense. There are a few little twists thrown in, but the reader knows that the two main characters will find their happily ever after. It just might take a while to get there. I enjoyed the author's writing style. The book was fast paced and kept me intrigued the entire way through. The characters were the main focus of the plot and were entertaining and engaging. I haven't read anything by this author before, but based on this book I would definitely read something else by her. This would be a fun break from more serious reading material.

I received this book free of charge from Goodreads in exchange for my honest review.
