Traces of Guilt

Traces of Guilt
An Evie Blackwell Cold Case Book 1

Evie is a good detective. So it's no surprise when she's asked to head up a special task force involving cold cases. Her first assignment is to solve two cases before the task force is announced in the new year. So not only is she racing the clock, but one of these cases involves a cop. Evie will be dealing with family, high emotions, and fellow officers in a small town. While in Carin County she meets the Thane family. The parents and their three sons play in integral part in her investigation. But Evie is fast realizing that these cases are not going to take the route she anticipated.

I absolutely love this author's writing style. It's clean, detailed, emotional, and draws you in to the story. Every character is given definition and depth. The elements of faith are artfully and seamlessly woven into the story without overwhelming it. The plot can take you by surprise. The romance is sweet, but isn't the main focus of the story. The relationships between characters and among the family members is enviable. As always, Henderson has written another masterpiece and leaves the reader eagerly anticipating the next book.

I received this book free of charge from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.
